The Zephyr Advantage

We specialize in California Rivers and have done so since 1972. We run 4 rivers and are confident that you will not find a finer rafting experience anywhere. In choosing Zephyr as your whitewater outfitter, you are assured of these advantages:
- Free use of our wetsuits on all trips. Most other outfitters charge you from $10 to $20 to use theirs...we do not. You save money rafting with Zephyr.
- The 3-7% extra government fee that most other outfitters charge over and above their advertised trip price is included in all Zephyr trip pricing (except the American river). Again, you save money rafting with Zephyr.
- Zephyr is among the highest wage-paying outfitters in the state, resulting in high quality, safe, mature and very experienced guides.
- Competitive prices, family rates and very generous group discounts. Early and late season discounts.
- State of the art equipment. All of our rafts have foot cups and we stock different size craft to match water levels for optimum enjoyment. Self-bailing rafts on all trips.
- Smooth logistics. We pride ourselves on running well planned and well executed trips, eliminating annoying delays. Example: our equipment is transported early to the launch site and the rafts are rigged and ready to go when you arrive...no waiting around at put-in while the rafts are inflated.
- Wonderful food! We devote a lot of time before each trip to menu planning and it shows at meal time. We provide ice cold beer and soda at camp and we serve wine with dinner.
- We do more than just raft you down the river. We lead side hikes to wonderful swimming spots, visit old gold mining relics, interpret Native American sites, wildflower hikes, etc. We want you to experience the total river environment.
- Paddle boat option on all rivers.
- Oar Boats! Zephyr has at least one oar-powered raft on most trips. This extra raft adds a measure of safety to the trip, as well as carrying all extra gear (cameras, extra clothing, lunch, etc.), so guests are not burdened with gear in the paddle boats. If you get tired of paddling you can always take a breather in the oar boat while your guide does all the work.
